The incredible Moon Mullican, a honky tonk piano genius. Always lots of Merle Haggard. And the best modern pop band I've heard, Fountains of Wayne. Why do you play honky tonk music? I have a deep attachment to real country music that stems from listening to my mother's record collection as a child. That, and it's all I know how to play. What are you currently reading? Modern and classic noir fiction for the most part. Raymond Chandler, Ross MacDonald, Richard Stark, Lawrence Block and the entire Hard Case Crime series are among my favorites.
