Whiskey Trip brings back the danceable, hard-edged honky tonk country
music of the 1950s, '60s and 70's, when such artists
as Ray Price, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard,
Buck Owens and others made country cool.
A labor of love for local musician Ben O'Connor, who grew up listening to and loving this music, Whiskey Trip
plays festivals, concerts, dances, private events and
clubs throughout the state.
To do this music justice, Ben has enlisted some of his friends, all of whom are among the best regional working country musicians. The current incarnation of the band features drummer Damon Smith, singer/guitarist Jason Daves, and steel guitar player John Macy.
Occasional members, as subs or extra soloists, include Bret Billings, Ansel Foxley and others.
